Kabo Morobane, Process Metallurgist at MP Mining, shares his experience at the kick-off of the pilot program for the Centre of Excellence at Maun Technical College.

MP Mining had identified 4 key employees to participate being Kabo Morobane, Mompoloki Motswagole , Godfrey Kgweetsi and last but not least David Moyo.

The initiative, led by the mining industry in partnership with the University of Queensland, is set to equip Botswana's workforce and students with the technical mining skills the sector needs. We are proud to see our people contributing to the next generation of mining talent.

Today, our QCQA Lead, Oreeditse Monty Seako, took to the stage on Day 2 of the Women in Mining Conference 2026, sharing her expertise in base metals analysis, laboratory quality management, and operational excellence in the mining industry.

The discussion focused on “The Future Mine Workforce: Women, Technical Skills and the Changing Face of Operations,” exploring the evolving role of women and the importance of technical skills in shaping the future of mining.

Monty’s journey—from commissioning laboratories from the ground up to implementing ISO/IEC 17025 Quality Management Systems —is a true reflection of the technical excellence, innovation, and leadership we champion at MP Mining.

Thank you to the Women in Mining Conference for providing a platform to share knowledge, exchange insights, and inspire the next generation of women in mining.

Some moments are worth revisiting, and this one still fills us with pride.

Our MP Mining Cycling and Walking Club took to the road for the Morupule Coal Mine Annual CEO Cycling Challenge, and our riders dug deep in true mining spirit.

🥇 Bose Shagwa – 1st Place, Open Female (30km Hamba)
🏅 Gift Malunga – 4th Place, Open Male (30km Hamba)
🏅 Elias Moremi – 5th Place, Open Female (30km)
🏅 Gofaone Kebothaetse – 7th Place, Open Male (30km)
🏅 Sethamiso Baaitse – 15th Place, Open Male (60km), his first time reaching that distance

As always for us, this challenge called for endurance, precision and teamwork, and our club delivered on every front. From a first place finish to a personal milestone at 60km, this was a weekend of hard yards and real reward.

Here is to celebrating the wins, big and small, that keep MP Mining moving forward.

⚽ MP Mining is proud to host the 2nd Annual Football Tournament, bringing communities together for a day of thrilling action and friendly competition!

Beyond the pitch, we will be investing in the future of our neighbouring communities. We will be distributing Standard 7 exam preparation packages to students from Lepashe, Kutamogoree, Mosetse and Dukwi Primary Schools, supporting them as they gear up for their final exams.
