Today, we pause to remember the children who never returned home, honour Residential School Survivors and recognize the lasting impact residential schools have had on Indigenous families and communities across Canada.

Truth and reconciliation begins with learning, listening and remembering.

Today and throughout the year, we encourage everyone to take time to learn about the history and legacy of residential schools and the experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.

We wear orange in remembrance and in recognition that Every Child Matters.
