This month, President and CEO Joel Hunter joined the team at TransAlta's Kingston, Ontario facility to host our quarterly town hall.

Following the event, the team toured the neighboring Wolfe Island wind facility. Hosting these events at our generation facilities highlights our technology-diverse portfolio and strengthens connections across our global team. Thank you to all staff who joined us for the event.

We were honoured to join The Mustard Seed and lend a hand serving a hot lunch at their Downtown Community Impact Centre. It was a meaningful opportunity to connect with the community and support the important work they do every day.

To support ongoing construction activities, temporary closures will be in effect on Black Rock Road (Township Road 270A) near Ghost River Wilderness Area in Alberta.

Road closure signage will be in place to advise visitors and motorists of access restrictions, including:

October 13-28: Road closed at Highway 40.

October 28-November 15: Road closed at kilometre 14, with no public access to the river valley beyond the closure point.

For the safety of workers and the public, please respect all signage, barricades and closure points.

September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to honour residential school Survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and recognize the lasting impacts that residential schools continue to have on Indigenous peoples, families and communities.

For all of us at TransAlta, this day is an opportunity to pause, reflect and deepen our understanding of history and our collective responsibility to advance the work of reconciliation.

Through partnerships with organizations such as Spirit North and Skydancer Indigenous Cultural Centre and Gallery, TransAlta is committed to supporting initiatives that foster learning, cultural awareness and stronger relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.

We know there is more work to do, and we will continue this journey with humility, respect and intention.

We were thrilled to help roll out the pink carpet at Hedland Well Women's Centre for the 2026 Pink Pilbara Breakfast, helping to raise over $185,000 for women’s health programs.

For more than 25 years, this event has gathered the South Hedland community together to raise funds for programs like its in-house cancer support service. This year’s total will contribute to over $1 million raised since 1999.

A heartfelt congratulations to the Centre on another successful event. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate TransAlta's commitment to supporting communities across Western Australia over the past 30 years.

🌈 This weekend, the TransAlta team joined the Distress Centre Calgary at the 2026 Calgary Pride Parade.

Creating a space where everyone feels safe, respected and able to be their authentic self at work is central to who we are. This year, we’re continuing our support through community partnerships, including a donation to Calgary Outlink, an organization dedicated to offering peer support, mentorship and resources for the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

A special thanks to the volunteers, family and furry friends that walked with us in support of inclusion and community!
