This Range Hood really finished off this beautiful kitchen. With warm gold tones and a paint finish to match the other components in the kitchen, this project wrapped up to be a stunner.

This one was a challenging build for me! The combination of curves and working with brushed stainless makes for alot of "hold your breath" moments.

-The Artist & His Craft-

I wanted to come on here to introduce myself as the Artist and Craftsman behind everything at Obsidian Metalcraft.

My name is Derek DeBoer and I have been in the metal industry for over 10 years now.

Starting out my metalwork by acquiring a Degree in Jewellery + Metals, I was able to lay a groundwork that helped me understand the merging between artistry and quality.

With a myriad of different skills behind me like sculpting, welding, wood working, etc. I found myself constantly searching for something to build and to create something I had never quite seen before.

A common "problem" I have is every time I go to buy something for my home, I have found myself saying "This just isn't quite what I'm looking for".

This "problem" unfortunately then proceeds with the phrase "Well I guess Ill just have to build it myself then."

To build it myself brings creativity and the space for something new to be born, and I can't wait to see what I get to build next.
