This September, we proudly celebrate West Fraser’s 70th anniversary — a milestone built on the skill, commitment and hard work of generations of employees.

It all began in 1955, when three brothers from Seattle — Sam, Bill and Pete Ketcham — pooled their resources to purchase a small, 12-employee planing mill in Quesnel, British Columbia. From those humble beginnings, West Fraser grew rapidly and today, with more than 50 locations and 10,000 employees, we are one of the world’s largest renewable wood products manufacturers.

As we mark this 70-year milestone, we thank the generations of employees, partners, local business and Indigenous Nations whose relationships continue to shape our work.
