Is mold really an issue with heat pumps?

Yep! Nobody wants to have that contaminated air circulating through their home.

A proper deep clean of a heat pump should include:
✅️ Proper disassembly and ensuring that any surface and all the nooks and crannies that are dirty are cleaned
✅️ Disinfected
✅️ Treated with mold control
✅️ Drain line flushed
✅️ Outdoor unit cleaned

Otherwise, the mildew and mold will immediately start to spread again.

A 15 minute spray and go doesn't cut it.

Lots of birds in dryer vents but this is the first squirrel.

Anyone with young kids can relate I'm sure. Dryer was removed to have new flooring put in and the kids decided to put some toys down the open pipe.

Toys were returned to the happy kids and they stuck mom and dad with the bill 🤣

Dryer and vent are all cleaned, safe, and ready for laundry.

How long does it take to clean a heat pump?

There are a few factors.

1) How accessible is it
2) How dirty is it
3) What make and model is it

This picture is a good example of a newer model that has many pieces to be disassembled for a proper deep clean. On top of these pieces, there is also the indoor coils to clean and the outdoor unit.

On average, 45 minutes for most units but the about factors will determine how long it takes.

In the end, we take as long as needed to disassemble, clean and disinfect, and reassemble your units.

I hear this all the time. This is a good example of needing to clean the outdoor unit as well. All that green slim on the fan, it's going to be all over the coils as well.

You only pay for a heat pump cleaning once every 12-24 months. Don't look for the cheapest person or the person that can be there tomorrow.
