𝑾𝒆𝒆𝒌 1: 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑰𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝑰𝒕 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔
At its core, composting is the process of turning organic waste food scraps, yard waste, and biodegradable materials back into soil.
Instead of sending this material to landfills, where it breaks down without oxygen and releases methane, composting allows organic waste to decompose naturally and safely, producing a nutrient-rich soil amendment.

𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔:
• Reduces the volume of waste sent to landfills
• Prevents methane emissions: a highly potent greenhouse gas (𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐞 traps heat 80 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 more than 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐝𝐞)
• 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐧 and reduces land-use pressure
• Produces 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭 that 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 can use to 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲, significantly 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐫𝐬
• 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡, moisture retention, and long-term land productivity

𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒔 𝒗𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝒃𝒚 𝒔𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏:
• Open pile and windrow systems
• Static and enclosed (in-vessel) systems
• Vermicomposting using red wiggler worms

At Ketek, 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞. Through emissions control initiatives delivered by our sister company, AltRoot, reductions achieved are equivalent to removing approximately 900 vehicles from the road in 2025 demonstrating how engineered environmental solutions translate into real outcomes.

And it doesn’t happen without serious reach: 250+ km of HDPE pipe and hose put to work to deliver flow where it’s needed, when it matters most.
