This video says it all ! One night I called my brother with an idea.
He didn’t laugh. He didn’t tell me it wouldn’t work.
He simply said, “Let’s do it.”
Back in January, we ordered our very first 3D printer with absolutely no idea what we were doing. No experience. No background. Just a belief that if we worked hard enough, we’d figure it out.
And figure it out we did.
There were countless failed prints, thousands of dollars invested, and wasted, long nights of learning, and more prototypes than we could ever count. We’re both perfectionists, so if something wasn’t right ,even the smallest flaw, it went straight in the garbage. We refused to put our name on anything that wasn’t something we’d be proud to own ourselves.
Fast forward just seven months…
That one printer has grown into 11 printers, and instead of printing designs we found online, we’ve focused on creating and engineering our own products from the ground up. Some designs took months to perfect before we were willing to offer them for sale.
A few weeks ago, we finally launched some of those products on Marketplace. We hoped people would like them—but we never imagined the response. In just a few days, we were flooded with nearly 200 orders.
Balancing full-time careers, families, and a rapidly growing business hasn’t been easy, but we’re incredibly grateful for every customer who has supported us along the way.
What started as one late night phone call has become one of the greatest adventures we’ve ever been on. Every custom project, every new design, and every satisfied customer reminds us why we started.
Sometimes all it takes is one person who believes in your crazy idea.
I’m sure glad I made that phone call.
And I’m even more grateful that my brother didn’t laugh…
He just jumped in with both feet and said, “Let’s do it.”
Lastly, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Dooky Extrudes Inc. Every order, like, share, and recommendation means more to us than you know.
We also want to thank our wives and kids. Building this business has meant late nights, long weekends, and sacrificing a lot of the time that should have been spent with them. They’ve been patient, supportive, and have stood behind us through every challenge, and we couldn’t have done this without them.
This dream may have started with the two of us, but it wouldn’t be possible without the incredible people who surround us !
