A huge thank you to members from The Lake Huron Fishing Club for lending their time on Friday and helping us in the process of tagging 30 fish for our spring 2026 study! Your help is always very much appreciated! Anglers- these fish were released downstream of Denny's Dam. Please be on the look out for a white anchor tag next to the dorsal fin (pictured below) and/or a black cord (antenna) coming from the body cavity on the right side of the fish between the pelvic and a**l fin. Reporting the capture of tagged fish greatly helps the study! Thanks in advance!

**Sponsored Fish Data Update**
STEELDREAMS FISHING CLUB sponsored fish Centermach was harvested downstream of Denny's Dam March 4. Tagged November 5 2024, this fish was tracked downstream of Denny's Dam where it was captured and released by an angler during the fall/winter 2024/2025 season. Spring 2025 it was tracked passing Denny's Dam. Note that no radio transmitter was found within the body cavity of the fish during harvest so it appears as if it shed it's tag sometime after this.
As always thank you to all anglers who report the catch and/or harvest of a tagged fish. The data you provide is invaluable!

Getting ready to start monitoring this location again in a couple weeks! Here are some fast moving Rainbow Trout exiting a fishway at a small hydroelectric dam on the Saugeen River near Hanover, Ontario. We have monitored passage at this fishway every spring and fall since 2018 as part of an ongoing project regarding the removal of a lower dam. Recorded on one of our mobile BRAVO fish monitoring and counting systems.

Most of you are familiar with our radiotelemetry work, but did you know we also spend ~5 weeks each summer electrofishing 26 sites across the main-stem of the Saugeen, as well as in Otter and Meux Creeks, the Beatty Saugeen, South Saugeen and Styx Rivers? Staff are busy preparing to move up to our Walkerton basecamp and we’ll be out sampling everyday from July 15 to the second week of August. If you see us- come say hi!
