There is a new layer of savings available that acts as a top-up to the existing GST New Housing Rebate. If you’re building your first home, you may now be eligible for both—significantly reducing your closing costs.
Here is how the "Top-Up" works for first-time buyers:
Eliminates the GST (or the federal part of the HST) on new homes valued up to $1 million.
Reduces the tax amount for homes valued between $1 million and $1.5 million.
