Scientific progress often begins with the ability to understand and mathematically describe the hidden mechanisms governing the physical world. Mathematical Physics plays a critical role in modern science by transforming complex natural phenomena into analytical models that help explain interactions within electromagnetic systems, particle dynamics, and the behavior of matter itself. These mathematical foundations continue to influence numerous areas of contemporary research, from advanced physics and engineering to computational modeling and emerging technologies.
The International Achievements Research Center (IARC) is pleased to recognize Prof.VASIL ANGELOV, DSc, PhD, Full Professor at the University of Mining and Geology “St. Ivan Rilski”, Sofia, Bulgaria, as a Winner of the 2026 Scientist of the Year Open International Competition in Natural Sciences – Physical Sciences (Mathematical Physics).
Prof. Angelov has devoted decades to advancing Mathematical Physics through research in Nonlinear Dynamical Systems, Fixed Point Theory, Delay Differential Equations, and Classical Electrodynamics. Throughout his distinguished academic career, he has authored more than 150 scientific publications, influential monographs, textbooks, and research works that have contributed to both theoretical and applied mathematical sciences.
His recent scientific work addresses highly complex multi-body electromagnetic systems with radiation effects, where he derived equations governing two-, three-, and four-body interactions and established the existence and uniqueness of periodic solutions using advanced Fixed Point methods. His research further extends to applications involving atomic systems, including models related to Helium and Lithium atoms, contributing to a deeper analytical understanding of particle behavior and electromagnetic interactions.
Beyond his scientific research, Prof. Angelov has served in important academic leadership roles, including Department Chair and Deputy Rector, while also contributing internationally as a keynote speaker, reviewer, editorial board member, and mentor.
His recognition reflects a distinguished career characterized by scientific rigor, sustained academic leadership, and meaningful contributions to the advancement of Mathematical Physics and modern scientific knowledge.
