THE " VACATION/NO VACATION " BATHROOM
For the last several years, I would take all January off and head to warmer weather. This year, my wife and I decided to redo "our" bathroom. With decades of making everyone else's dream come true, it was our turn ! It was with mixed emotions though as this bathroom created 30 years of memories for myself and my 5 children. But with them all being adults and out on their own, it was time !
I customized cabinets and shelves and a countertop around our washer and dryer giving us quite a bit of storage space. I installed an illuminated niche in the shower and a niche next to the sitting tub. The floor has 24x24 gloss porcelaine and the accent wall next to the tub are 8x45 wood looking ceramics as we wanted to give the bathroom a cottagy look. We went with all black matte for color with the pedestal tap for the tub, faucet, shower mixer, niches, pot lights, switches and plugs, thermostat, heater and handles. The wood vanity has a barn door ( cool ), and we also went with a black matte toilet. My wife remained patient while I turned our home into a construction area for several weeks and her continuous scrolling of nicknacks and accesories for our bathroom really put the finishing touches on our forever bathroom.
