Today, we came together as a community to recognize Red Dress Day, a day that honours and raises awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people. The red dresses serve as a powerful visual reminder of those who are missing, those we have lost, and the ongoing impacts of violence faced by Indigenous communities across Canada.

A heartfelt thank you to Athabasca Tribal Council, the Elders for their prayers, Presenters, Drummers, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, and all the organizers who made the Red Dress Solidarity Walk at Kiyām Community Park so meaningful. It was a powerful day of reflection, learning, and connection - one that reinforces the importance of listening, honouring lived experiences, and continuing the work toward truth, justice, and safety for all.

On this National Day of Mourning, we pause to remember and honour the workers across Canada who have lost their lives, been injured, or made ill due to workplace incidents. In our industry, this day is deeply personal - our work environments carry real risk, and safety depends on the care, discipline, and accountability we bring every day.

For us, safety is not just a program, it’s a commitment: to plan our work properly, respect the risks in front of us, speak up when something isn’t right, and look out for one another. In 2025 alone, 144 Albertans lost their lives due to workplace illness and injury. 144 individuals who didn’t make it home, and 144 families forever changed. This is 144 too many.

The Day of Mourning is not only about remembrance, it’s about renewing our commitment to safer workplaces. Every procedure, every conversation, and every action matters in ensuring we all go home safely at the end of each shift.
Take a moment today to reflect, remember, and recommit.

All In. All Together.

It’s been an exciting day at Father Mercredi High School for the FMCSD career fair!

We’ve spent the day connecting with students, sharing insights into union trades, and highlighting the diverse and rewarding work happening across our industry.

Students are also taking part in a hands-on communication exercise using building blocks, designed to demonstrate the importance of teamwork, clear communication, and problem-solving skills on the job site. These are the same skills that help drive success in the trades every day.

It’s always inspiring to see the next generation exploring career pathways and building confidence in their abilities. Thank you to the Fort McMurray Catholic School District for having us. We’re proud to be part of these important conversations about the future of our workforce.

Workforce availability, training, and long-term development continue to be defining factors in the success of Canada’s critical minerals projects.

We are proud to see Connect Group Inc.’s Jesse Johnson featured alongside doug parton of Ironworkers Local 97 in Energy and Mines, discussing how workforce planning, strong partnerships, and skills development can make, or break, project success.

Collaboration with organizations like Ironworkers Local 97 helps ensure access to a highly skilled, safety-focused workforce while supporting structured apprenticeship pathways and ongoing training development; as our industry continues to grow, these partnerships between contractors, unions, and training providers are essential to building a sustainable workforce pipeline and meeting the evolving demands of critical mineral development.

❄️Severe winter conditions didn’t slow our crews down, exceptional quality and structural integrity delivered.❄️

Our Ironworker crew are almost complete a complex structural scope for Canadian Natural Resources Limited. The work began with the precise er****on, surveying, and alignment of substructural steel frames, tie-in beams, and bracing to existing As-Built pile caps, meeting tight tolerances every step of the way.

From there, the team assisted in the installation of 4 E-House sections utilizing jack and slide methods, followed by detailed field fit-ups, torquing of ridge frames and top beams, and low-temperature structural welding.

The scope also includes the precision hoisting, shimming, and torquing of four high-capacity transformers, along with the installation of exterior platforms, walkways, stairs, and architectural cladding.

Complex scope. Harsh conditions. Strong ex*****on.

Another project delivered safely and to the highest standard by our crews. 👊💪

Three Days Focused on One Thing: Our Team

This week, CGI leadership stepped away from daily operations with a clear objective: strengthen how we execute.

What stood out wasn’t just the content, it was the engagement. The ownership in the room. The willingness to challenge assumptions and raise the standard. In environments where schedule, safety, and production are on the line, ex*****on cannot rely on good intentions. It requires disciplined planning, early risk identification, accurate forecasting, and clear, candid conversations.

Over three focused days, we sharpened the standards that define how we lead. Commitments were made. Accountability was reinforced.
Standards don’t hold themselves. Leaders do.

And this group?
All in.

A big thank you to Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation DLRM for hosting today’s Career Fair in Fort Chipewyan. It was so wonderful to see so many familiar faces from last year — including incredible community and industry partners.

A special thank you as well to IW 720’s Rob Letendre for partnering with CGI on this event and helping bring such an engaging, hands-on experience to the day.

The winter road journey in was a spectacular way to start the morning, and it ended on such a high note, surrounded by the energy and enthusiasm of everyone eager to try the welding simulator.

Grateful for the connections, conversations, and the bright futures ahead. ✨
