📅 We’re just 1 week away from the Canadian Waste to Resource Conference (CWRC), hosted by Waste to Resource Ontario on June 23–24.

As organics programs continue to mature across North America, municipalities and facility operators are facing increasing pressure to improve diversion performance, manage contamination, maximize resource recovery, and deliver reliable long-term operations.

At CCI BioEnergy, we believe successful organics processing facilities require more than just waste processing equipment. They require proven solutions that maximize organics recovery, reduce operational risk, improve project economics, and consistently perform under real-world waste conditions. We're looking forward to discussing:

✔ Maximizing organics recovery and renewable energy generation
✔ Reducing residual disposal volumes and long-term operating costs
✔ Managing contamination before it impacts downstream operations
✔ Improving facility reliability through robust, municipal-grade infrastructure
✔ Delivering long-term value through the BTA® Process and lifecycle-focused design

Whether you're evaluating new infrastructure, expanding processing capacity, or optimizing existing operations, we'd love to connect and discuss practical strategies for improving recovery, reducing risk, and maximizing value from organic waste streams.

📍 Wrapping up the Midwest Biosolids Association Third Annual Conference in Milwaukee.

The conference provided an excellent opportunity to connect with wastewater professionals from across North America and discuss the regulatory challenges shaping the future of biosolids management. Much of the conversation centered around PFAS, evolving compliance requirements, and the need for practical solutions that help facilities manage risk while maintaining long-term operational performance.

As part of the conference, CCI BioEnergy was pleased to share our experiences and insights during our presentation, "What happens when you try to remove grit where no one has before?", which explored fine grit removal from primary sludge using advanced hydrocyclone technology and the role it can play in improving downstream equipment protection, operational reliability, and long-term digester performance.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to connect with William Selten and Rosalee Thomlison throughout the event. We look forward to continuing the conversations and building on the relationships established during the conference.

📍 Live from the Midwest Biosolids Association Third Annual Conference!

CCI BioEnergy is proud to be joining wastewater professionals, utilities, consultants, and technology providers from across North America to discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of biosolids management.

Throughout the conference, discussions are focused on improving operational reliability, reducing maintenance requirements, protecting downstream equipment, optimizing sludge handling processes, and identifying practical solutions that support long-term facility performance and regulatory compliance. As facilities continue facing increasing pressure to manage costs, extend asset life, and improve overall process efficiency, there is a growing emphasis on technologies and operational strategies that deliver measurable, long-term value.

One of the key topics we had the opportunity to present and discuss at the conference was the challenge of removing fine grit from primary sludge and the role advanced grit management technologies can play in protecting downstream equipment and optimizing long-term facility performance.

👋 If you're attending, be sure to connect with William Selten and Rosalee Thomlison to continue the conversation on fine grit removal, sludge polishing, and long-term wastewater facility performance.

📢 CCI BioEnergy is excited to present at the Midwest Biosolids Association Third Annual Conference on June 9 from 11:25 AM – 11:50 AM.

🎤 Presentation Topic: “What happens when you try to remove grit where no one has before?”

The session will explain a first-of-its-kind, real-world demonstration focused on fine grit removal from primary sludge using advanced hydrocyclone technology under actual plant operating conditions.

This study will evaluate fine grit separation performance, operational limitations, hydraulic behavior, and design validation in a full-scale wastewater environment, targeting particle sizes where no proven industry solutions currently exist today.

Members of our team, William Selten and Rosalee Thomlison are looking forward to meeting industry professionals and presenting how advanced grit removal and sludge polishing technologies can help improve downstream equipment protection, operational reliability, and long-term digester performance.

📍Wrapping up Biogas Americas 2026 in Detroit.

As North America’s largest biogas and RNG event, Biogas Americas brought together municipalities, utilities, developers, and technology leaders from across the renewable energy sector.

The event served as a reminder that, even as the industry continues to grow, it still feels very much like a community. Some of the most valuable conversations throughout the week were not necessarily the scheduled meetings, but the unexpected run-ins with people we had not seen in 5, 10, or even more years. It was also a great reminder that the biogas industry is ultimately built around long-term relationships, shared experiences, and people who have been working toward the same goals for a long time.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to connect with William Selten and the CCI BioEnergy team throughout the week. Events like these continue to provide valuable opportunities to exchange perspectives, strengthen industry relationships, and better understand the evolving challenges shaping the future of biogas and renewable energy development.
