Did some more siding this weekend, repairing where a window was replaced and doing siding on two dormer sides on a 2 storey home with a 12/12 pitch roof. Safely of course. Siding was provided by the customer. Boards on the 12/12 were already there.

More to come this season!

Did some siding repair this past weekend!

Blending new siding with existing, slight colour variation from new to old. Existing siding just needs a wash. Shimmed out left side of the chimney deletion evenly up to the eaves. (Went from 2 inches at the bottom to 4 1/2 inches at the top) Threw a corner post on. Left side of the chimney deletion was shimmed and strapped 4 inches away from the wall compared to the right side. Had to throw a corner post on.

Turned out well tho, half the job complete more to blend this weekend! Stay tuned for more πŸ”¨πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ’―

When it comes to roofing, the details you don’t see are often the ones that matter most.

This image highlights a critical area where a sloped roof meets a vertical wall, one of the most common points for leaks if not installed correctly. Proper layering is key starting with solid sheathing, followed by a weather-resistant barrier, step flashing integrated with each course of shingles, and a protective wall membrane above. Each component works together to guide water safely away from the structure.

Step flashing, in particular, is essential. Installed piece by piece with every row of shingles, it creates a reliable path for water to flow down and off the roof, rather than behind it. Combined with a properly sealed wall wrap, this system helps prevent moisture intrusion, mold, and long-term structural damage.
Quality roofing isn’t just about what you see on the surface, it’s about building protection that lasts. Proper installation today means fewer problems tomorrow
