It's gardening season! We can build you some sturdy and handsome raised beds and garden boxes. The benefits of gardening above ground in a frame are plenty - less bending and kneeling, w**d control, no tilling required and easy annual crop rotation for annuals. Also, it's so visually tidy. We use white cedar to ensure these boxes and beds stand resist degradation from the elements and moisture.

We love the texture that brings to a room! The darker the colour, the more texture! On this accent wall we used a "honeycomb" or "cloud" painting technique to create this lovely texture.

We selected green colour to darken the room where the clients sleep, to tie in with their existing linens and to create a feeling of being in nature.

We were successful at applying this old-fashioned paint on a pre-existing latex paint - a usual No-No. BUT we have some really great priming products to make this nature paint adhere to a non-natural surface without compromising adhesion. We even added a bit of 3-dimensional texture with the use of sand in our primer.

Ask us about limewash and other natural paint options for your home. So many colours to choose from and more finishing effects available.

Now THIS was a very special project, and could probably be 5 individual posts...! Talk about custom! A one-of-a-kind tiny home on wheels, planned collaboratively with these inspiring clients to look like an Olde English Tudor cottage (our two-door Tudor), and meant to act essentially as a fancy wooden RV, this tiny has it all - low voltage LED lighting/fans and 120v connection, composting toilet, onboard sink + grey water collection, some very specialized storage inside and out, and even an outdoor shower with on-demand HOT water! There isn't enough space to express how much fun this project was, and how many logistical puzzles there were to solve. If you have any questions - ask away!

Another deck(!) for some great Peterborough clients. It doesn't have to be completely ripped out and brand new to fit in and be beautiful. Here, we rebuilt the compromised section of the structure, reusing the old piers, and landed it gently on top of the 'still good' part. A lovely face-lift without the price tag of a complete rebuild. All done with local White Cedar, except the skirting to match the older pressure treated section.

Lime wash painting is traditionally used on straw bale and natural plasters because of its ability to let the walls "breathe". Though lime wash is most often seen in these contexts, we have been experimenting with how we can use it on more conventionally finished interiors (where walls are not permeable), for example over old latex paints or gypsum-based drywall. BUT WHY, you ask? I'm excited to tell you that not only is lime wash a modern yet timeless interior aesthetic with a beautiful, warm and rustic charm, but also it's a non-toxic, solvent- and plastic-free alternative to regular paints. This is especially beneficial for chemically-sensitive individuals who react poorly to VOC's (volatile organic compounds). Lime wash literally has no smell!
