"You get what you give."

As a Customer Service Representative for Irving Energy, looking for ways to brighten someone's day comes as second nature to Sherie Logan.

"Treat the person on the other end of the line like they're sitting across from you at the dinner table," Sherie says when describing her method of success. "Listening to their situation with patience makes them feel heard, important and valued."

Since joining Irving Oil in 2022, Sherie credits her team for creating a welcoming atmosphere. From the classroom training sessions provided before starting in her role, to the many colleagues she now calls dear friends — she feels that each person she has encountered has helped boost her confidence and has been happy to lend a hand.

A lasting impact 💛

Recently, we were joined by leaders from the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation, Halifax’s IWK Foundation and Boston’s Massachusetts General Hospital for an employee talk centred around the impacts of our company’s community investments. The session highlighted how these giving initiatives are supporting patient care, improving access to services and strengthening health-care systems across our regions.

Our investment in quality health care is an important reflection of our core values. From our company’s support of cancer care at Massachusetts General Hospital to our contribution to the Dr. Margot Burnell Cancer Support Program with the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation and the Children's Emergency Department at IWK, these gifts are part of a legacy championed by our company's late Chairman Emeritus, Arthur L. Irving.

“Seeing all the children smile and have fun makes it all worth it.”

Michael Lewis, a dedicated volunteer for over 20 years and an Area Process Specialist at our Whitegate refinery, understands the impact of encouragement and positivity. Volunteering his time weekly, Michael looks forward to helping the local GAA club and Junior Achievement.

“To be able to give my time and interact with the youth in our community gives me great satisfaction,” says Michael.

On an overcast morning 94 years ago today, residents of the quiet town of Harbour Grace, NL, came together as Amelia Earhart launched her red Lockheed Vega aircraft for her historic solo crossing to Derry, Ireland – becoming the first female pilot to ever cross the Atlantic Ocean.

Our Riverhead Irving retail site stands beside a monument to this achievement, serving as both a tribute and time capsule to that historic event.

Dawn Slade and her mother Laverne Hurdle have operated the Riverhead Irving location for 24 years. Dawn says the bronzed Amelia Earhart figure is a remarkable reminder that anything is possible to those who dream. “We are incredibly honoured to be a part of this community.”

Irving Oil offers congratulations to the Riverhead and Harbour Grace communities on this important anniversary honouring Amelia Earhart’s historic achievement.

For the past seven years, Peter Teloian has been proud to serve our customers as part of our Irving Energy team.

Based out of Concord, NH, Peter, a Professional Driver, is dedicated to the safe and reliable delivery of furnace oil, diesel and propane throughout the region.

“It's interesting work with something new every day," Peter says.

Sarah Gendron, Distribution Manager in Concord, says Peter brings a wealth of knowledge to the Concord delivery team.
