The Invotech YM Series is the medium-temperature counterpart to the YS Series we featured last week. Same manufacturer, same certifications, different operating envelope.
What "medium temperature" means in practice: The YM is designed to maintain product temperatures between roughly -6.7°C and +48.9°C, with the ability to run down to -15°C at the ev***rator. That covers most of the commercial refrigeration work outside of true freezing — supermarket display cases, walk-in coolers, ice machines, bulk milk tanks, beverage coolers, and standard cold rooms.
The capacity range: 2 HP up to 15 HP across the YM lineup. That's the same series number from a small back-of-house cooler all the way up to a multi-compressor rack system — which simplifies sourcing and parts familiarity for contractors who standardize on one brand.
The mechanical detail worth knowing: Invotech scrolls use a radial and axial compliance design. In plain terms, the scrolls float on both axes, which means the compressor can tolerate brief flood-back of liquid refrigerant without scroll damage. In systems with imperfect superheat control, this translates to longer service life.
