Many thanks to NBC journalist Janis Mackey Frayer and her crew for this excellent look inside our Sangdong mine, which is arguably one of the most strategically important and technologically advanced mine in the world today. I am proud to say that our Sangdong tungsten concentrate plant is equally advanced, and has been built and will be operating according to the equator principles. We've developed a water-based flotation process that separates tungsten from ore without using hazardous toxic chemicals.

I need my competitors to succeed. For now.

That may sound odd, but the logic is simple: there are too few producing Western tungsten mines to meet demand. If the next wave of projects doesn’t reach production, customers will hedge, wait and source finished products from China. That leaves the same problem in place and makes the market harder to rebuild.

I’ve written a new column on why the next 24 months matter so much for Western tungsten supply – and why helping the sector become more credible is, in my case, simple self-interest. Because if the market contracts, nobody wins.

Read it here:

There are too few producing Western tungsten mines to meet demand. Without new mines the entire market will contract - leaving even the established producers without customers.

Historic. Strategic. Transformational.

The completion of the marks a pivotal milestone for Almonty Industries and a major step forward for the global tungsten supply chain.

Sangdong is not just returning to production. It is re-establishing a critical mineral asset of global significance, built to support the industries that matter most: defense, semiconductors and advanced manufacturing.

This is delivering on vision, scale and strategic relevance.
