Small renovation at this secret location in Orillia.

2 walls getting soundproofed... plus a major revision on the existing ceiling.

Love it when you can't even tell if any work has been done in the space.

Slick stepped ceiling detail for the kitchen in this showcase home.

Some ridiculous marble backsplash incoming... leaned on my prefab people to make the ceiling fit the room.

Those centerlines extend forever. Layout was a pain, but it's all perfect in the end. Just as it should be.

Yet another renovation at Humber College.

Splitting one classroom into two... so much hidden work above the ceilings and behind the walls. Great results on this one because of thel team approach with this GC. All subtrades know each other, so we all work together to bring this project to the finish line.

Love walking into the classrooms afterwards and everything seems natural and in-place.

Looking forward to the next one.

Perfectly tied in cabinet detail... this was placed into a full-rough opening, no drywall or bead on the returns.

Cabinet was built in place and the carpenter added a detail where the 1" return leg of the bead slotted into the cabinet.

The wood was taped off and everything filled in... the resulting corner is absolutely precise and geometrically perfect. This obviously requires a bit of skill and creativity, but results like these are possible when you work with the right people.

We're doing reveals on the main floor of this laneway suite in Toronto.

First stage was done a while ago... everything was taped and painted and other trades followed after. Floors and trim was installed on the main floor, so we're back now to connect everything and finish it all off.

Trim-Tex AS5510 (1/2" x 1/2" shadow) was installed throughout, everything cut with a miter saw.

Should look stunning after tape / finish and paint. Wow.

Closing out a secure gc.ca nerve center with some final touches... adding some surface-mount (3x 3/4" ply!!) blocking for some extra video screens.

Had to touch up those ceiling tiles again. Glad to get this one complete and handed over.

Client asked for a drywall return on this basement window after taping / priming.

Ok... no problem.

Bit of an exercise to go from zero prep to a tapable product. All good though... customer service above all, right? 😊

Final stages of this build... adding these small returns to the front door.

Had to pack out all 3 sides to get a consistent reveal on the door frame. Obviously there was differential shimming involved... nothing is ever perfectly plumb on 10'.

Cut down some low-profile Jumbo beads for the outside corners, and finished off with tear aways at the door frame. Should match the rest of the windows perfectly.

Knife edge prep on the main floor of this slick luxury home.

This requires an extra step... after the prefab gets installed, the rest of the ceilings get filled in, and the walls follow. These profiles are incredibly solid on wood framing... especially when all joints are fully reinforced with plywood

This detail is a perfect feature for a large ceiling without being overwrought and excessively busy. Knife edges will be backlit and window coverings will be fully recessed.

Nice seeing base building work that isn't absolute trash.

Adding at least one coat to that ceiling... but it's workable. Start-up meeting to lay eyes on the space and point out any potential issues moving forward.

Looks good from here. 👌

Dressing up this master bedroom ceiling with some knife edges.

My main crew prepped the raised part of the ceiling... I set up today to take care of the complication. I determined the overhang with the first piece, connecting with 3/8" ply to match the resilient channels.

I maintained squareness while installing the rest of the prefab. The rest of the ceiling was filled in, carefully screwed together and reinforced where necessary.

My guys are back on Monday to board those walls and finish up with the rest of this floor. Taping starts soon.

Getting some arches done at a commercial reno in Mississauga.

Slides 1 and 2 show new arches in new framing. Slide 3 is a retrofit arch into what was a square top opening to the BOH. Bit of magic on that one... the outside corner (not part of the actual arch) was touched in demo and gave some difficulty with tying everything together.

All good now... just a bit of taping left to go.

Lots of Trim-Tex on this project... low-profile jumbo arch beads on the curves, tying into low-profile jumbo beads on the straight portions. Tear-aways at the tops of all new partitions to u/s existing grid.

Nice stuff, for sure.
