HYROX FOR A CAUSE 🏋️‍♂️

This December, Team RTC is taking on a challenge that goes beyond the competition.

Matt Rasmussen, CEO, Eric Cusimano, Operations Manager, and Alison Nunes, Project Manager, are stepping up to compete in HYROX on December 19, all in support of a cause that matters: mental health.

Each team member is working toward raising $450, with a combined Team RTC goal of $1,350 before race day.

For Matt, Eric, and Alison, this challenge is about more than crossing the finish line. It’s about using the strength of our team to raise awareness, start conversations, and make a meaningful contribution toward mental health.

$450 each. $1,350 together. One greater cause.

Want to help Team RTC reach the finish line? Head to the link in our bio to find Matt, Eric, and Alison’s individual fundraising pages and support their goals. Every donation and every share gets us one step closer.

Stronger together, for mental health. 💙

NEW PROJECT: WILSON + HEREWARD

Another Missing Middle Solutions project is officially underway — this time at Wilson Street + Hereward Road in Esquimalt.

Working alongside Breakwater Developments and Nick Bray Architecture, Rolling Tides Construction is bringing this 12-unit residential development to life, following a similar missing-middle approach to our Craigflower project currently underway.

Right now, we’re deep into the concrete phase. Foundations are taking shape, underground services are being coordinated, and the crew is getting everything dialled in as we prepare to pour the slabs.

Once complete, the development will include 12 homes across two three-storey wood-frame buildings, with a mix of:
• 6 one-bedroom homes
• 2 two-bedroom homes
• 4 three-bedroom homes

The project will also incorporate BC Step Code Step 3 performance, heat-pump systems, EV charger rough-ins, extensive bicycle parking, permeable landscaping and new underground services — all within an established neighbourhood.

These early stages might not be the flashiest part of a build, but they set the standard for everything that follows.

Good buildings start with good groundwork.

We’ll be sharing more from Wilson + Hereward as this one comes out of the ground.

Junior Builders Camp 2026 🔨🏠

For the second summer in a row, we opened our doors to the next generation of builders for RTC’s Junior Builders Camp!

This day is all about giving the kids and families of our RTC team a chance to step into our world, throw on a hard hat, get hands-on, and have some fun along the way.

For us, Junior Builders Camp is about more than construction. It’s about bringing our RTC families together, creating memories, and giving the next generation a fun introduction to the work we’re proud to do every day.

After two incredible years, we’re hoping to make Junior Builders Camp an RTC summer tradition for many years to come. ☀️🦺

A huge thank you to our RTC team and families for making another year so special. We’re proud to create a workplace where our families can be part of what we’re building, too.

Building homes is our job. Building community is our purpose.

Driftline — 525 Paradise St.

Progress at Driftline continues to take shape.

Drywall is now complete in Units A and B, with painting set to begin this week. Siding work is moving steadily, while the city advances stormwater connection digging on site. Flooring materials arrive at the end of the week, bringing us one step closer to move-in-ready spaces.

Every stage builds toward the same goal: homes crafted with intention, from the ground up.

Follow along as Driftline comes to life. Located at 525 Paradise Street, Victoria BC.

701 Craigflower Road | Construction Update

Construction at 701 Craigflower Road continues to progress well, with several key milestones approaching across the project.

In the basement, drywall installation in Units 1 through 6 is nearing completion. Painting is scheduled to begin next week, marking the start of the interior finishing phase. Flooring, interior doors, and millwork are planned to follow over the coming weeks as these units
continue to move toward completion.

In the upper portion of the building, Units 7 through 12 are progressing through the final stages of rough in work. All mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough ins are expected to be completed next week. Once complete, the team will move into insulation and vapour barrier installation, followed by drywall.

Work is also progressing outside the building. Construction of the new sidewalks, bike lane, and additional offsite improvements is currently underway, with this scope of work expected to be completed by the end of August.

With work advancing both inside the building and throughout the surrounding site, 701 Craigflower Road continues to move steadily through the next phases of construction.

Follow Rolling Tides Construction for continued updates as the project progresses.

🚨MISSING PERSON🚨

Two days ago at approximately 6:30 AM, Tyler Ewald Tenhunen went missing.

Tyler is the cousin of one of our employees, and the entire Rolling Tides Construction team is standing behind his family as they continue their search. We’re asking our community to help by sharing this post and keeping an eye out.

Tyler was last seen near Peatt Road and Goldstream Avenue. He is 28 years old, approximately 5’7”, has black hair, and was last seen wearing all-black work attire. He also has distinctive insect tattoos on both arms.

Please share this post as widely as possible. If you have seen Tyler or have any information that may help, contact the appropriate local authorities immediately. For a current sighting or emergency, call 911.

Our thoughts are with Tyler’s family, friends, and everyone searching for his safe return.

RTC Team BBQ 🍗

Great teams aren’t just built on the job site, they’re built through the moments shared outside of it.

Last Friday, the Rolling Tides Construction team came together at the Belmont Site for our Team BBQ, taking a
well deserved break to enjoy great food, great conversations, and even better company. It was an opportunity to connect beyond our projects, strengthen relationships, and celebrate the people who make what we do possible every day.

Here’s to good food, great teammates, and the many projects still ahead!

Let’s build something exceptional together.

Matt Kinnee | Site Superintendent

Three months in, and Matt has already become a great addition to the Rolling Tides team.

With 30 years in construction, including 25 years running his own business, there’s a good chance Matt has seen just about everything a job site can throw at him. If there’s a challenge to solve, he’s probably already solved something similar a few times before.

When he’s not helping keep projects on track, you’ll usually find him coaching, golfing, fishing, or camping. And here’s a fun fact you might not guess, Matt is a certified rescue diver. So whether it’s on land or underwater, he’s someone you definitely want on your team.

Give Matt a warm Rolling Tides welcome in the comments! And if you had to choose just one,
golf, fishing, or camping, which would it be?

Last week we gave you an update from the job site at 525 Paradise Street, where we’re proud to be building Driftline for Rolling Tides Developments.

This week, we’re bringing you even closer with some aerial views of the progress 🛠️

Construction continues to move forward steadily, and here’s what’s happening on site:

🔹Electrical and plumbing rough-ins are being completed, along with all required fire stopping.

🔹HVAC sheet metal installation is well underway.

🔹The exterior is coming together as siding installation nears completion.

🔹Our roofing crew is making great progress with shingle installation.

🔹Up next is the blower door test, an important milestone that verifies the home’s building envelope and helps ensure long-term energy efficiency.

If you’re interested in the vision behind Driftline, be sure to follow . We have an interview coming up with project architect Xeniya Vins of XV Architecture, where she’ll walk you through the design decisions and inspiration behind this incredible project. 🏡✨
