🚨 International Flashing Awareness Day! 🚨

A perfect day to share a project that’s a great reminder of just how important proper flashing and waterproofing details are.

Last year, we were called to investigate why this door was leaking. Once we started opening things up, we discovered that the problem went much deeper than expected — the wall had extensive rot and water damage.

The cause? A leaking window combined with improper flashing details allowed water to get behind the exterior finishes and into the wall assembly.

We rebuilt the damaged wall, properly sealed everything up, and last week we returned to replace the remaining old windows.

Over the years, we’ve learned that the details matter — proper flashing, quality tapes, sealants, and installation methods all play a huge role in keeping water where it belongs: outside! 💧🏠
