TOTAL STATION
A Total Station is an electronic surveying instrument that combines a theodolite + electronic distance meter + microprocessor to measure horizontal angles, vertical angles, and slope distance.

Function:
1. Measures angles - Horizontal + vertical to ±1" accuracy
2. Measures distance - Laser to prism/point, gives slope + horizontal distance
3. Calculates coordinates - Computes X, Y, Z position of points instantly

Conclusion:
It’s used for setting out, topographic surveys, and as-built checks.
No Total Station = no accurate transfer of drawings to ground.
