The spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) digital PCR detection kit is designed based on droplet digital PCR technology for the detection of the copy number variation in exons 7 and 8 of the SMN1 gene and exons 7 and 8 of the SMN2 gene in genomic DNA. In droplet digital PCR, tens of thousands water-in-oil nanoemulsions can be generated using microfluidic chip, the ratio of the DNA copies of target and reference genes can be used to interpret dPCR results.

The “sample-to-answer” integration and automation of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA)-based liquid biopsy using digital PCR(dPCR) has been hampered by the complicated operations of liquids with volumes ranging from milliliter samples to nanoliter droplets. On the basis of a “3D extensible” design paradigm proposed previously, an integrated droplet digital PCR (IddPCR) microdevice was successfully developed to automate the entire process of liquid biopsy. This work offers a feasible solution for the automation of liquid biopsy and paves the way for its broad applications in clinics.

A study show the identification of atypical and cryptic ALK rearrangements using an optimal algorithm. ALK status was analyzed using a Human ALK Gene Fusion Detection Kit with the primers covering nucleotide, respectively (TargetingOne, Beijing, China). In this study, it was not only useful for the detection of IHC, FISH, and NGS false-negative specimens, but also indicated the possibility of atypical ALK aberration.

The covalently closed circular DNA (cccDNA) library formed in the liver is the main reason why hepatitis B virus (HBV) is not completely cleared and persistently infected. Recently, Professor Ren Feng's research team from Beijing Youan Hospital, Capital Medical University. Beijing. China published a paper in the international journal Hepatology International (2021 IF=8.586) entitled "CRISPR/Cas13-assisted Hepatitis B Virus Covalently Closed Circular DNA Detection", using the digital PCR product from TargetingOne as a reference standard for assay sensitivity and positive detection rate, which can also test the effectiveness of sample pre-treatment.
