The FD-GFGC-Z100 detects ground faults by monitoring whether an imbalance occurs in the vector sum of all phase currents within the system:
1. Under normal operating conditions, the vector sum of the currents in the system's phase conductors and neutral conductor should be zero.
2. When a phase-to-ground fault, leakage current, or insulation deterioration causes current to flow to ground, a residual current will be induced in the current transformer (CT).
The FD-GFGC-Z100 detects this residual current in real-time. If the detected current exceeds the preset tripping threshold, it will issue an alarm signal or initiate action interfacing with circuit-breaking devices.
