White oxidation around the edges of a screen is often related to galvanic corrosion between stainless steel mesh and aluminium profiles.

The white deposits are usually aluminium oxides or hydroxides. Water, salt and cleaning residue can easily collect inside the frame grooves and create the conditions for corrosion.

This means the corrosion products do not necessarily come from the stainless steel mesh itself.

Coastal environments, high humidity, poor drainage and direct contact between stainless steel and aluminium can all accelerate the problem.

Good installation design is just as important as good mesh quality.

There are usually two common types of oxidation problems in screen doors and windows.

One appears around the edges of the mesh, especially where it contacts the aluminium frame. This is often seen as white oxidation.

The other appears in the middle of the mesh as reddish-brown rust spots.

The colour can already tell us a lot:

White oxidation is usually related to zinc or aluminium.
Reddish-brown rust is usually related to iron.

Understanding the colour and location of the oxidation helps us identify the real cause more accurately.

Today I want to share a new pleated mesh pattern — we call it Pet-Resistant Pleated Mesh.

The new pattern helps improve the uneven grid appearance often seen in traditional square-pattern pleated mesh.

By combining thicker and finer yarns, it also provides a smoother and more comfortable operating feel for pleated screen doors and windows.

A new pattern, a better appearance and a better user experience.

Would anyone like to test it?

There is something very satisfying about watching mesh being woven.

One wire at a time, the stainless steel gradually becomes a complete mesh. It then travels across the ocean, goes through further fabrication and installation, and finally becomes part of a customer’s home.

It is a long journey from a single wire to a finished screen — and I enjoy watching every step of it.

For perforated aluminium mesh, I prefer 5052 alloy to 1060.
5052 offers higher strength, better hardness and stronger resistance to oxidation, making it more suitable for long-term use in screen doors.
That is why the perforated aluminium mesh we export to Australia is made from 5-series aluminium alloy.
For a better screen door, material selection really matters.

Currently under powder coating is a batch of 0.8mm 316 stainless steel security mesh for export to Australia, manufactured to meet the quality requirements of the Australian market.

The mesh is made from Tsingshan 316 stainless steel and undergoes a complete production process, including weaving, acid pickling and passivation, flattening, cutting to size, and powder coating.

By strictly controlling the raw material and every stage of production, we provide customers with stable and reliable mesh for Australian security screen systems, helping their finished products meet the relevant Australian testing requirements, including:

• Knife Shear Test: AS 5039 / AS 5041
• Bushfire protection requirements: AS 3959 / AS 1530.8.1

A high-quality product is not only about the powder-coated surface. It comes from strict control of the raw material, pretreatment process, and every stage of production.

Good Mesh Also Needs Good Installation Design

In coastal areas, some screen doors may face aluminium frame oxidation after long-term use.

One possible reason is galvanic corrosion. Stainless steel mesh has a higher electrochemical potential than aluminium. When the mesh directly contacts the aluminium frame in humid or coastal environments, the aluminium side may oxidize faster.

That is why good installation design is important.

In the Australian security screen market, many systems try to separate the stainless steel mesh from direct contact with the aluminium profile, and avoid screws passing directly through the mesh.

The design is more complicated, but it helps reduce corrosion risk and supports a more durable, higher-end screen system.

Good material matters.
Good installation matters too.

Container Loading for Southeast Asia Market

Today we loaded one container for our customer in Southeast Asia, who is a local building materials wholesaler.

This shipment includes several different mesh products:

Aluminium expanded mesh
Aluminium decorative mesh
Stainless steel welded mesh for bird protection
Stainless steel security mesh
PP screen mesh as an alternative to fiberglass mesh

For building materials wholesalers, stable quality, mixed product supply and export-ready packing are very important.

At JI AN Mesh, we support different mesh solutions for doors, windows, construction, decoration and protection applications.

Another container ready to go.
Thank you for our customer’s trust.

Today I want to share pleated mesh — a widely used product, but also a very tricky one.

There are many materials in the market, such as multifilament polyester, monofilament polyester, PP+PE and fiberglass. Different materials have different stability and different application uses.

Our biggest advantage is pleat stability. We can control the pleat height tolerance within ±0.5mm, which makes the finished screen look better and work more smoothly.

In the second video, the left one is our product, and the right one is a common market product. You can clearly see the difference.

For pleated mesh, stability really matters.
