Ever wondered why some staircases look like they don’t belong to the rest of the house? It usually comes down to mismatched material or rushed installation. In this video, we’re installing stair treads using the exact same engineered wood as the floor — adhesive is applied in full coverage across each step, then the tread is carefully positioned and pressed into place, step by step, all the way up. The result is a staircase that flows naturally from the floor, same tone, same grain, no visible break in the pattern. We showed you spot-glue installation on chevron parquet — here’s the same method applied to herringbone. The mechanics stay the same: adhesive strips over a slotted moisture membrane, bonding each plank securely while protecting against ground moisture. What changes is the geometry. Chevron planks are angle-cut so the pattern flows in one continuous diagonal line; herringbone planks are cut straight and interlock at a perfect right angle, creating a more structured, grid-like rhythm as it builds row by row. Same craftsmanship, same installation method — just a different visual language.

When it comes to installing wood flooring, there isn’t just one right way — the method depends on the space, the subfloor, and what the project needs. This video shows spot/strip adhesive installation: glue is applied in controlled strips over a moisture barrier membrane, then each plank is pressed into place, creating a secure bond while the membrane protects against moisture from the concrete below. It’s a middle ground between click-lock flooring and full glue-down — less adhesive than a full spread, but still a strong, stable result.
