🚀 Project Spotlight | Bar Mill Upgrade in Guangxi, China
Sharing a recent revamp case by Heavy Goyo for a bar rolling mill in Guangxi, China.
The customer's original bar production line was commissioned in 2020. However, it suffered from repeated equipment issues, including burnt roll housings and broken drive shafts on the 320 rolling mill, severely impacting production efficiency. Additionally, the rolling speed could no longer meet the increasing production demand.
In April 2022, the production line was upgraded with the Goyo 385 rolling mill group.

• 16mm: 32 m/s
• 18mm: 30 m/s
• 20mm: 26 m/s
• 22mm: 21 m/s
• 25mm: 18 m/s

We are proud to once again supply Heavy Goyo’s oil film bearing laying head and pinch roll to one of our long-term customers in Turkey, following years of successful operation with our previous equipment.

🔧 Goyo’s oil film bearing laying head offers several key advantages:

High load capacity – Compared to rolling bearings, oil film bearings of the same outer diameter can support significantly greater loads.

Long service life – With minimal wear, their expected service life ranges from 5 to 10 years.

Heavy Goyo Secures EPC Contract for 800,000 TPY High-Speed Bar Mill Upgrade

We're thrilled to announce that Heavy Goyo has recently signed an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract for the upgrade and modernization of an 800,000 tons per year (TPY) high-speed bar production line. The aim of this project is to transform an existing mill into a special steel production line, significantly enriching our client's product portfolio.

Heavy Goyo will apply its proprietary Long Product Rolling Technology and 5M Low Carbon TMCP (Thermo-Mechanical Controlled Processing) to achieve key objectives, including increasing output, reducing costs, diversifying product range, and enhancing dimensional accuracy. Our goal is to create a high-quality, low-cost, first-class production line that delivers substantial value to our client.

Key Features of the Upgraded Line: "2+4" Process Layout & 330mm Modular Mill

The upgraded high-speed bar production line will primarily produce Φ12.0mm-Φ32.0mm rebar, with future capability to produce Φ20.0mm-Φ60.0mm round bars:

"2+4" Process Layout: This configuration effectively controls grain growth and enhances strip strength, reducing the need for alloying additives.

Controlled Rolling, Controlled Cooling, and TMCP Technology: These advanced techniques significantly minimize the use of alloying additives, conserving resources and reducing carbon emissions. Manganese (Mn) content will be reduced to below 1.05%, eliminating the need for Vanadium (V), Niobium (Nb), and Titanium (Ti) additives.

Ultra-Heavy Duty 330mm Modular Mill: This marks the successful first-time application of such a mill in a high-speed bar production project, resolving traditional issues like frequent finished roll breakage, low rolling speeds, and limited product specification range.

Superior Product Quality: The line is designed to achieve a maximum negative tolerance of 5.5% and an impressive yield rate of up to 98.2%.

This project underscores Goyo's commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions that drive efficiency and value for our partners.

Heavy Goyo Solutions Empower Fujian Steel Plant’s New High-Speed Line！We’re proud to support our client in Fujian, China, with the successful launch of a new high-speed wire rod production line.
Founded in 1993, the company has over RMB 1 billion in assets, covers 418 mu of land, employs around 470 people, and produces approximately 700,000 tons of steel annually.
This new line features Heavy Goyo’s modular mill stand system, delivering precise sizing for incoming material with a diameter of φ30 mm. It enables higher production speed, improved output, and strict dimensional control — helping our client achieve both efficiency and quality.

Recently, Heavy Goyo was commissioned by a client to upgrade an 800,000-ton/year high-speed bar mill. Heavy Goyo will apply its proprietary long-product rolling technology to achieve goals such as increased production, cost reduction, expanded product variety, and improved dimensional accuracy, creating greater value for the client. The upgraded high-speed bar production line will primarily produce rebar ranging from Φ12.0mm to Φ32.0mm, with future capability to produce round steel from Φ20.0mm to Φ60.0mm. By adopting an ultra-heavy-duty modular rolling mill, it successfully addresses traditional issues such as frequent damage to finishing rolls, low rolling speeds, and limited product specification ranges. The maximum negative deviation is 5.5%, with a yield rate as high as 98.2%.
