Wanma FR XLPE Compound Passes Provincial New Product Appraisal

The flame- retardant S i-XLPE insulation material which follows UL standards has passed the evaluation of "Zhejiang Province Industrial New Product ", has been awarded the " Zhejiang Province Industrial New Product Certificate " by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology.

The flame-retardant Si-XLPE insulation material, which is utilized in accordance with UL standards, possesses an innovative formula design and manufacturing process. It has secured a utility model patent, demonstrating its superior flame retardancy and exceptional insulation capabilities. The acceptance evaluation team has unanimously concurred that this novel product has successfully undergone the provincial new product appraisal, indicating that its product technology is at the forefront in China.

This product exhibits a 50% enhancement in tensile strength and possesses a volume resistivity that is several hundred to several thousand times higher than the commonly utilized low smoke halogen-free flame-retardant cable material currently available in the market. It possesses superior electrical, mechanical, and extrusion properties, along with a broad range of processing parameters, rendering it suitable for diverse extruder types. Customers are not required to introduce new equipment for its application and can directly produce using existing equipment, thereby ensuring exceptional ease of operation. Furthermore, once assembled into a cable, this product can successfully pass the VW-1 and FT2 flame retardant tests. Currently, it is primarily targeted towards overseas markets that adhere to UL standards, finding application in wires such as XHHW-2, XHHW, XHH, and others that comply with UL standards like UL44 and UL1581.

On May 25, the first 500 kV crosslinked polyethylene power cable with Wanma 500kV XLPE developed by the State Grid Smart Grid Research Institute Co., Ltd. passed the type test in Zhoushan Ocean Transmission Technology Laboratory.

According to reports, the 500 kV crosslinked polyethylene power cable is developed by the State Grid Intelligent Research Institute and Zhoushan Ocean Transmission Technology Laboratory, Ningbo Oriental Cable Co., LTD., Wanma (Zhejiang) High Voltage Material Co., LTD., China Institute of Electrical Science and Technology, Changyuan Power Technology Co., LTD.
