Denting, local flattening, ripples, or collapse along the inside radius does not always mean there is a problem with the machine. Insufficient tooling support or mismatched process settings may also cause the defect.
Using a 38CNC-3A-1S to process a 32 ร 2.5 mm chair-back tube, the video recommends checking these four settings first:
Mandrel position โ move it closer to the tangent point when additional internal support is needed.
Wiper die support โ check whether it properly controls material flow along the inside radius.
Clamping and pressure โ keep the applied force stable throughout the bend.
Bending speed and CLR โ consider slowing the bend or increasing the centerline radius.
The correct setup depends on tube OD, wall thickness, material, bend radius, and tooling clearance. Check the tooling first, then fine-tune the machine parameters.
