Perfluoropolyether (PFPE) is a synthetic polymer that is liquid at room temperature. It is composed of carbon, fluorine, and oxygen atoms. Its molecular backbone contains flexible ether bonds, and fluorine atoms replace hydrogen atoms to form strong C-F bonds, which endow it with properties such as high thermal stability (up to 300℃), chemical inertness, low volatility, and a wide liquid temperature range (-80β€”300℃).
