Days ago we received a letter from our client who was EPC of the Package 3 of Huizhou-Haifeng Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline Project. We, Luoyang Deping Technology, was awarded a 5.3km-long in-tunnel pipe laying project and completed it in late June, 2024.
It is worth mentioning that this in-tunnel pipeline project is the most difficult and essential part of the whole pipeline. And it is also the longest in-tunnel pipe laying project in China so far!
By undertaking this project, we have created a miracle because we not only completed it successfully on schedule, but also did it 4-5 times faster than our competitors. Thanks to our decades of dedication to independent R&D, we made swift response to client request and innovated dedicated equipment for this project.
To complete this project, in addition to all necesssary manpower, we innovate and provided two sets of SDT700 tunnel dedicated integrated pipe handling vehicles, two sets of SDM700 pipe discharge frames, one set of SDD900 pipe fit-up vehicle, three sets of SDT900 welding vehicles, one set of DPFM2436 pipe facing machine, one set of DPIWM3638 automatic internal welding machine (for root pass) and three sets of ZDP850D dual-torch automatic orbital welding systems.
First 100 joint running-in production started on mid March. Throughout the project, 100%AUT+100RT+100%DR NDT principle had been strictly followed. First pass rate of Deping automatic welding system reached over 98% (99% for AUT; 98% for DR;98% for RT). Mechancal test (CTOD and tensile test) was also passed. The most brag-worthy thing was that our welding production rate reached over 20 joints per day in the confined tunnel space that featured high humidity and stale air, which had posed great challenges to both equipment and our crew.
Here is the client's appraisal: During in-tunnel pipeline construction , Deping had actively collaborated with our project team, taking responsibility for pipeline support installation, providing welding equipment services, and successfully completing the construction tasks with focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. Notably, they demonstrated impressive innovation in the transportation, deployment, and alignment of pipes within the confined space of long-distance tunnels. By improving traditional tunnel construction methods, they significantly enhanced the efficiency of pipeline installation in tunnels!
