An arcade runs through the interior and exterior spaces of the project, integrating space and time. For one thing, it spatially connects functional areas such as lobby, stairs, barber area, VIP area and employee rest area. For another, through the visual guidance of this arcade, people at the outdoor space, which is filled with historical memories, can feel the brand-new experience of redefined indoor spaces, and sense a dialogue of time between the old and the new.

The interior space is mainly in black and white, using steel plate and terrazzo to create a rough texture, integrated with modern fashion elements, and decorated with wood veneers to make the space lighter. The use of mirrors, together with line lamps, greatly extends the space, forming visual tension of the inner space.Furniture conforming to the place characteristics is selected to highlight the space theme and design motif, and further integrate the visual elements of the interior space.

The designer builds the hotel lounge, unlike the traditional ones, into an area featuring reception, seating, photography, and high tea. The height differences in the shallow water area further polish the artistic vibe - inspired by the winding coastline, the designer crafts the boundary of this area into a multifunctional platform, presenting a rich layered visual effect with the pool and the ocean.

The designer excels at supporting spatial vibe with a pure white tone to present a strong and specific contrast with the sky, seascape, and sunset, which ensures a photographic background for all scenes and settings. “We work to craft the space into a timely and sophisticated art piece with a long lifespan of usage by adopting this classic color.” Says the designer on the concept.

This design approach is obviously different from those of ZMake in the past, The whole logic of using lighting materials is completely different. This project is located in Zhengzhou. The name of the project is Peach Blossom Show, a recreational performing arts club. Per capita consumption is high, about 5000-6000 yuan per person. the total area is about 2400m².

The bar consists of a glazed solid wood table and a brass metal wine cabinet, and the combination of these two materials makes wine mixing area both practical and aesthetic, retro and modern. The long table in the shape of homocentric squares not only extends the indoor to the outdoor but also produces more interaction among the moving line of crowds. The arched wine shelves look like a dazzling work of art with wine in it, which is both practical and aesthetic and helps bartenders in control of the overall situation. Behind the door in the dark, a good show is on.

For ARCHIHOPE, Time, which has occupied such a detached stage, is like a drama that has not yet begun but is highly anticipated. For the curator of the stage, only if it has the most perfect opening can the most wonderful drama be performed. Like mysterious stories often happen in silence at dead of night, secrets are always hidden in the doors that stand ajar. Inspired by this, the designers design a black arch as the facade with a frosted surface that gives a mysterious and deep texture and highlights the name Time. Behind the door in the dark, a good show is on.

The project is located near the business district of Taiyuan Mixc, which is the core business and play area of the whole city development, and also in the area of urban tourist attractions, making it quiet and independent and maintaining convenient transportation. As a central location gathered in the city, relying on the bars in the surrounding commercial centers, the design is like making this place an informal communication place, creating a place for people to relax, seek identity and social isolation.

“square” and “circle” can be regarded as classic techniques in space design. “Square” and “circle” are contradictory and unified communities, which reflect the Oriental philosophical temperament – “heaven is round and the place is round”. In the specific design, the square large-scale is used to control the overall effect of the space, while the circle is used as an active element to show the character characteristics of the space, which is rigorous, romantic, stable and modern. This method is adopted for many suspended ceilings in the bar. The square shape controls the overall style of the space, and the local circular suspended ceiling and the chandelier are organically combined. The volume contrast of the space is everywhere. If you pay a little attention, it is not difficult to find that this contrast permeates every corner of the space and serves different functions.

Under the moon in the mountain, a clear view unveils on Spring Patio.Guess where our new work is? Just in Taikoo Li Sanlitun, the renowned bustling commercial street in Beijing. Some may say there’s no such romantic land in this over-modernized street. How lucky enough, we found a spot in the far-right side of the business district, which departs itself from the main street, shielding amounts of buzz out. The location creates a rather chilling atmosphere, giving comers a sense of easiness when walking in, which resembles the feeling in hill climbing in spring.

Creating a mountain and moon view in city center.Surely there’s no majestic mountains in city center, so what’s the plan to create a city version of Spring Patio? We decide not to copy the same scenery, but to grasp its essence of chill feeling.We’ve thought through the spatial structure and determined to strengthen spatial depth and light and shadow effect to enhance its spaciousness.

Located in Jiefang Road adjacent to West Lake, the project occupies parts of the first and second floors of an old residential building at the street corner. The memory of the neighborhood and the fabrics of streets and alleys in its surroundings provide infinite possibilities for breeding future new lifestyles. Inspired by the staggered blocks of the existing building, the designers decided to take “Rubik’s cube” as the design concept. Cubic blocks at staggering heights interpenetrate each other, and window openings are subtly carved out on the exteriors. The square and round shapes form an irregular, intriguing polyhedron.

The two-floor interior space continues the modular concept of the architectural facades. Taking point, line and plane as basic elements, the designers created various functional geometric forms and decorative surfaces. The space is highlighted by the textural contrast of different materials like brass, washed stones and terrazzo.

Elixir Bunn Coffee Roasters

Coffee in Saudi Arabia is well-rooted into the local culture and could be traced back to times prior to the formation of the Kingdom. Since then, coffee in the region has evolved, and today, the coffee industry in Saudi Arabia is flourishing. To match that progression, Azaz Architects created the space as a “Deco Temple” to take coffee seekers into a modern day spiritual-like experience.

The structural column in the center of the space created a challenge for the designers. However, the team at Azaz Architects embraced it, transforming it into the center point of its design. New walls blossomed from the column, shaped into massive overreaching arches. The shape of the historic Islamic arches combined with the mud finishing contributed to the feel of local sanctity.

off.o is a cafe located in Busan, South Korea. The overall floor area of 588.17 square meter spreads on two floor levels. The entrance is located at the first level, which is a complex of 3 separate buildings. Located in the center building, the entrance greets customers with a cafe and bakery reception, while two annex buildings offer different types of seating spaces. Along with the lower level which also grants customers a diverse spatial experience, the project pursues to provide customers a relaxed yet intriguing spatial experience throughout the space.

To the simple and linear forms of the existing space, the design team incorporates curved elements in the ceiling design to provoke a comfortable atmosphere. Rather than being complex and dynamic, the reinterpretation of geometric elements, such as point, line, and plane, inspired the spatial design, creating a relaxing and minimal ambiance.

Wormhole, as its name suggests, is a multi-dimensional space-time tunnel connecting the city and the coast. Arc and curve are the most important lines used by LHBY in this design: pebble-shaped sofa, round stool, cloud-like lamp as if even the edge of the table is full of ripples.

LHBY extracted the two most significant colors – blue and orange in the collision of cold and heat. The cool colors of gray-blue, light blue, and sea blue not only conform to the quiet and introverted temperament of the library but also blend with the sea and sky nearby; on the other hand, orange can add vitality to the quiet space.

Bananananana Coffee

Banana coffee is located in an old community near the core block of Qianjiang New Town in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. We try to use strong modeling language to break the tranquility of the original community and create a conflict with the original market state. The project covers an area of about 60 square meters, and the design emphasizes the concept of “dynamic and static / separation”: five curved steel plates are inserted into the building in a dynamic way, and the boundary between the outdoor and indoor is blurred. Courtyard： Outdoor seats and a coffee table. One of the metal plates is inserted into the room from the outside to combine the indoor and outdoor organically.

The designer assumes that they are fallen aircraft wrecks, breaking the original solidified community life state they exist in a way of deconstruction and separation and become the core visual point of the whole design. The original complete metal plate was extruded and cut into five shapes, of which three curved metal plates were arranged at the entrance, wrapping the door of the original building, in order to attract the attention of people coming and going. The partition wall on the left side of the entrance is made into a three-circle mirror by the designer, which becomes a clock-in point for each customer to meet their online social demands.
