The working principle of an automotive flasher is based on the intermittent switching of an electrical circuit. Flashers typically contain a relay, a thermistor, or electronic components. When current flows through the circuit, these elements change state due to heating or electronic effects, thereby causing periodic opening and closing of the circuit to control the flashing of turn signals or hazard warning lights. Specifically, thermal flashers utilize a bimetallic strip that bends when heated to control the circuit, while electronic flashers employ semiconductor components to achieve the flashing function. Different types of flashers vary in response time, lifespan, and power consumption, but their fundamental principle remains controlling circuit switching to produce flashing lights.
