Why CE Marking Should Be on Your Filling Machine Checklist
Ever been asked for a CE certificate in the middle of a big order? If you sell pillows or bedding to EU buyers, that question can come earlier than you think.
Imagine you’re comparing filling machine suppliers. Price looks good, delivery is reasonable, production speed seems fine. But then your export agent asks: “Does the machine meet EU machinery standards?” You’re not sure. That’s a risk no one wants to take.
Here’s the thing. A filling machine isn’t just about speed. For cross-border production, the paperwork matters as much as the pistons. In the EU, machinery must meet the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, and the CE mark shows that basic safety requirements are covered. Without it, your buyer may reject the equipment or your finished goods may face delays at customs.
That’s why, when you evaluate a fiber or pillow filling machine, it helps to check three practical points: certification, filling accuracy, and the material range.
Take the KIVAS KWS6901-2 / KWS6901-4 as an example. It’s a steel-made filling machine with 2 or 4 filling ports. It carries CE certification under the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC — certificate number M.2024.206.C100562, issued by UDEM. For a bedding manufacturer aiming at the EU market, that’s a useful starting point.
Then comes the numbers that affect your daily output. The KWS6901 can fill from 100g to 2000g per piece, with an accuracy of around 1% and an error range of ±5–10g. For a 600g pillow, it runs at about 10–20 pieces per minute. Production capacity is around 400–800kg per hour, and the power range is 10.5–13.5kW.
What does that mean on the workshop floor? If you run a bedding line with several operators, a machine that keeps fill weight consistent means fewer rejections, less rework, and a smoother handover to packaging. That’s the kind of benefit you can measure — in returned goods, labor time, and customer confidence.
Of course, one machine doesn’t fit every factory. Your raw materials matter too. The KWS6901 series handles 0.6D–15D polyester fiber, fiber balls, shredded foam, down feathers, EPS balls, and similar fillings. So whether you’re making pillows, duvets, cushions, or even beanbags, the same machine can often cover multiple products.
