Rainy reputation? Sure.
Solar potential? Absolutely. 🌦️➡️🌞
Hokitika, is proving that great performance is about how intelligently the system is designed. This upgraded installation added DAS SOLAR modules to an existing setup, maximizing generation and make every ray count.
Big thanks to Grenz Electrical for delivering thoughtful design, seamless integration, and craftsmanship built to last!
Hokitika is a good example of how perception and reality can differ when it comes to solar.
People think about rain first, but what matters is total sunlight over the year, and the West Coast still delivers enough to make solar work well, if it is designed and installed properly.
This project was an extension of an existing system we installed earlier. We added 12 × DAS Solar panels across two roof sections, integrated into a system with an 8kW inverter and 12kWh battery. The goal was simple, increase generation and make better use of the infrastructure already in place.
A big thank you to Sunshine Solar, not just for the design, but for how well it builds on the existing system. You can see when a system has been thought through as a whole, and not just added to piece by piece. We genuinely value working alongside partners who understand how systems evolve over time.
I am proud of the Grenz Electrical team. Working with existing systems, scaffold access, and coastal conditions requires attention to detail, and the team delivered to the standard we expect, safe, compliant, and built properly.
And to the homeowner, thank you for trusting us again. That says more than anything else.
Solar is not just about starting a system.
It is about building something that can grow and continue to perform.
Always open to a conversation about doing solar properly ⚡
