In EV battery manufacturing, copper spatter is more than a welding defect.

FRM (Flow Regulation Mode) helps stabilize the keyhole and control molten-metal flow—reducing spatter without simply adding more laser power.

In our 3 mm pure-copper busbar test, FRM reduced spatter by 60–80%.

Control the flow. Control the weld.

Most laser welding defects root in unstable keyhole and turbulent molten pool, not insufficient power.

Our FRM (Flow Regulation Mode) adjustable core & annular beam stabilizes the weld pool, drastically reduces spatter and porosity on copper, aluminum and dissimilar metal joints.

It broadens the process window for consistent mass production, with clear application boundaries to ensure reliable industrial results.

Copper, high current, and AI infrastructure do not automatically mean laser welding.

The best manufacturing decision starts with understanding what the joint must achieve over its lifetime. Serviceability, cable flexibility, gap tolerance, heat sensitivity, and production economics all influence process selection.

Laser welding creates real value when permanent, compact, low-resistance, and highly reliable connections are required — but it is not the default answer for every copper application.

At GW, we focus on the part, the failure mode, and the evidence needed to make the right decision.
