For a data center upgrade project, ANPL and its local service partner rapidly deployed a UPS lithium battery backup system.

The solution featured ANPL LFP battery cabinets to support critical loads. With core equipment pre-stocked and factory testing—including system functionality, communications, and key protection features—completed before shipment, the system moved directly into on-site installation and commissioning upon arrival.

Using a pre-installed external maintenance bypass and standardized power-distribution interfaces, the system was integrated smoothly. Installation, energization, parameter setup, load testing, and handover were all completed in a single day.

Before a project begins, both parties confirm the application scenario, load requirements, backup time, system voltage, installation space, wiring-harness interfaces, communication protocols, and certification requirements. The process then proceeds through solution confirmation, sample testing, production and shipment, and post-delivery issue handling.

In a UPS system, battery charging does not operate independently. When utility power is available, the UPS supports downstream loads while recharging the battery. Charging power also draws on the system’s available capacity. Without controlled charging current, the power headroom available for loads may be reduced, affecting the connection and operation of critical equipment.

ANPL’s customized current-limited charging solution sets an appropriate charging-current limit based on the UPS configuration and battery-system requirements of each project. This keeps battery charging within the system’s designed operating range and preserves the necessary power headroom for critical loads.

In multi-cabinet parallel systems, if some cabinets are taken offline because of a fault or maintenance, the charging demand on the remaining cabinets may increase. Current limiting helps prevent charging current from rising uncontrollably as the system configuration changes, reducing the risk of exceeding equipment operating limits.

During typhoon season, localized power disruptions, supply switching, and phased power restoration can all affect the stability of critical operations at telecom sites, data centers, and similar facilities. A backup lithium battery system must not only support loads during utility-power events, but also recharge in a stable and controlled manner after power is restored.

When utility power is interrupted or switched, the UPS transfers to battery mode, with the backup lithium battery system supplying energy to downstream critical loads. Matching discharge capability to actual load requirements is fundamental to business continuity.

Once utility power returns, the battery enters the recharging stage. While the UPS remains online supporting loads, charging power also draws on available UPS capacity. In parallel battery-cabinet configurations, if some cabinets become unavailable, the remaining cabinets may face increased charging demand.
