Casting rollers, also known as chill rollers or cooling rollers, are used in the production of BOPP films during the extrusion and cooling stages. BOPP film production typically involves the following steps:

Extrusion: Molten polypropylene resin is extruded through a flat die to form a thin, continuous sheet of plastic.

Orientation: The extruded film is then stretched in both the machine direction (MD) and transverse direction (TD) to orient the polymer molecules, resulting in improved mechanical properties and clarity.

Cooling: After orientation, the hot film needs to be rapidly cooled to solidify it. This is where casting rollers come into play.
