According to a research report recently released by the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (SolarPower Europe), the installed capacity of photovoltaic systems installed globally in 2022 will be 239GW, of which the installed capacity of rooftop photovoltaic systems will reach 118GW, accounting for 49.5% of the newly installed capacity. It is the highest share in the past three years. The roofing industries in Brazil, Italy and Spain grew by 193%, 127% and 105% respectively.
The European Photovoltaic Industry Association predicts that by 2023, the installed capacity of rooftop photovoltaic systems installed globally will increase by 35%, and is expected to increase to 159GW. According to the medium-term scenario, this figure could rise to 183GW by 2024 and 268GW by 2027. This growth will be more stable than in 2022, as this will be driven by a return to lower energy prices. Globally, 182GW of utility-scale PV systems are expected to be installed in 2023, a 51% increase compared to 2022. It is expected to be 218GW in 2024 and is expected to grow further to 349GW by 2027.
