What’s the Difference Between Resistive and Pneumatic Safety Edges?
Both types are designed to protect people and vehicles from injury or damage when industrial doors close — but their working principles are slightly different.
• Resistive (Touch Edge): Uses conductive rubber strips. When compressed, the circuit closes and sends an instant stop signal.
• Pneumatic (Airbag Type): Contains an air tube. When pressed, air pressure changes and triggers a switch — simple, waterproof, and durable.
