Why does XLPE insulation have its own room?

The answer is simple: cleanliness.

Before extrusion, XLPE insulation compounds are stored and transferred through a dedicated feeding system designed to reduce exposure to dust, moisture, and other contaminants.

Why does that matter?

Because even tiny foreign particles inside the insulation can create potential weak points that may affect long-term cable performance.

Because cable performance depends not only on the production process, but also on how raw materials are handled before manufacturing begins.

Would you visit a supplier before placing an order?

Many customers do.

This week, customers from Germany visited our factory to see how our products are manufactured.

From raw materials and cable production to EV charger harness assembly and quality inspections, every step was open for review.

For us, transparency is important.

For customers, seeing the process firsthand often brings greater confidence than any brochure or catalog.

Thank you for visiting Tianhuan Cable Group.

Our doors are always open.

What are the different types of power cables? ⚡

Power cables are not all the same.

Depending on the application, engineers may choose:

• Single-core cables
• Multi-core cables
• Armored cables
• Flexible cables
• Low-voltage or medium-voltage cables

Each type is designed to meet specific installation and performance requirements.

Which type do you work with most often?

If annealing makes copper softer...

Why not anneal the copper rod first?

Because copper needs to be drawn before annealing can do its real job.

As the rod passes through drawing dies, its diameter decreases, its length increases, and the copper becomes harder.

This effect is known as work hardening.

Annealing then restores the flexibility and ductility needed for further processing.

That's why modern wire production combines both drawing and annealing into a continuous process.

How do you know which wire is which…
when every core inside the cable has the same color? 🤔

Imagine a cable running dozens or even hundreds of meters.

From one end, how can an installer know the wire in their hand matches the exact same core on the other side?

This is why manufacturers add color tracers during insulation extrusion.

That small stripe makes it easier to tell each core apart.

A question we occasionally hear from new visitors in the workshop:

“If cable conductors can be thousands of meters long… how do manufacturers deal with limited copper rod lengths during production?”

In continuous stranding and wire processing, conductors are typically joined using butt welding or similar wire splicing methods to maintain uninterrupted production.

The quality of the joint is critical:

it must withstand further drawing or stranding,
maintain mechanical stability,
and avoid defects during downstream processing.

This short clip shows one example of conductor joint welding during the stranding process.

Sometimes the smallest production details are the most interesting ones behind cable manufacturing. ⚙️

Ever wondered why export cables are shipped on massive wooden drums? 📦

For photovoltaic cable exports, the packaging itself is part of the protection system.

This steel-wooden cable drum is designed for long-distance shipment, helping reduce movement, pressure damage, and transportation risks during sea freight.

The wooden structure has also been fumigated before export to comply with international shipping requirements.

Sometimes, reliable delivery starts long before the cable reaches the project site. ☀️

Have you ever noticed the markings on these cables?

Which types of cable markings have you seen?

Types of cable marking:

1️⃣ Inkjet printing: Fast and flexible, perfect for variable data like batch numbers.

2️⃣ Laser marking: Permanent and precise, resistant to wear and chemicals.

3️⃣ Embossing / Hot-stamp: Durable marks without ink, ideal for harsh environments.

At Tianhuan Cable, we combine these technologies to ensure every cable is traceable, durable, and meets international standards.

Most aluminum conductors used in power and electrical cables start from EC-grade aluminum rods.

During production, the aluminum rod passes through multiple wire drawing stages, where the diameter is progressively reduced to achieve the required conductor size, resistance performance, and flexibility. Depending on the cable design, the drawn wires may then be stranded into compact or concentric conductors.

The consistency of the aluminum rod is critical for stable conductivity, tensile performance, and smooth drawing efficiency. Variations in material purity or surface condition can directly affect conductor quality during high-speed production.

For this reason, maintaining stable raw material inventory is an important part of cable manufacturing management, especially for projects requiring continuous production schedules and batch consistency.

At Tianhuan Cable, aluminum rods are prepared and inspected before entering the drawing process to support stable conductor production and reliable delivery performance.
