Mastering PEDOT:PSS: Coating and Drying Are the Critical Process Differentiators‌
The performance of PEDOT:PSS thin films is ultimately defined by two core steps: precise coating and controlled drying.
Taking Yacoo PEDOT:PSS dispersion (Stable Type)
(Product No. J2021) as a standard reference workflow:
1: First calculate the target dosage of the stable PEDOT:PSS stock solution, then apply it according to the specified coating thickness. For example, if you need to apply 10g/m² of the stable PEDOT:PSS stock solution, use the undiluted solution directly, and control the coating thickness to 10μm (= 10g).
2: Dry at above 130°C for 1–3 minutes to allow solvent evaporation and complete the cross-linking reaction. Note: Drying may be insufficient depending on the heating capacity of your oven.
3: If the coating surface still feels tacky, it is recommended to increase the drying temperature and extend the drying time.
