How a 2,000-Hectare Farm Uses UAN 32 and ASN
2,000 hectares is a lot of ground to keep fed. At that scale, the question stops being "which nitrogen product is better?" and becomes something more practical: which one fits this pass?
Here's how that plays out on a large field-crop operation.
Base fertilization comes first. ASN (26-0-0+13S) goes out with the spreader — a granular fertilizer delivering nitrogen and sulfur in one pass. The nitrogen arrives in ammonium and nitrate forms, and the sulfur is there for cereals, oilseed crops, and anything else that responds to it.
Weeks later, the crop still wants nitrogen. That's where a lot of operations switch tools. Instead of another spreading pass, they inject UAN 32 through the fertigation system. UAN 32 is a liquid carrying 32% N in three forms — urea, ammonium, and nitrate — in one solution. Because it's a liquid, it can be metered precisely and delivered with the irrigation water.
The season splits roughly like this:
• Base: ASN spread across the field — nitrogen plus sulfur
• Top dressing: UAN 32 through fertigation — dialed in and adjustable
At 2,000 hectares, that division isn't really about preference. It's logistics. Liquid cuts spreading passes. Granular handles the base job well where a spreader is already moving.
Two practical notes worth remembering:
Storage. UAN 32 needs proper tanks, and cold weather deserves attention — fertilizer salts can crystallize at low temperatures. ASN should stay dry, out of direct sun, and away from alkaline materials.
Rate. There's no universal UAN 32 number per hectare. You work backward from the target kg N/ha for the crop, then convert to liquid volume.
Both products come from Taian Risso Chemical Co., Ltd., producing fertilizer since 2007 and exporting to customers in more than 60 countries. The liquid and granular nitrogen line is covered under ISO 9001:2015 (cert 0891092R1M16Q8), with EU-market RoHS certification DPWD/03/0570/2025.
For the growers and agronomists here — on a big acreage, do you run liquid through the whole season, or do you still keep granular in the rotation? 🌾
