How DPGDB&DEGDB blends(Ecod-flex CA80/50) works in water-based coatings ?

1. In waterborne acrylic, styrene-acrylic, VAE, PUD and similar systems, polymer particles are dispersed in water.
During drying:
Water ev***rates→Polymer particles approach each other
→Particlesdeform and fuse→Polymer chains diffuse across particle boundaries
→Continuous film forms
2. ECOD-FLEX CA80/50 acts as a coalescing/film-forming aid and plasticizer.
It helps the polymer particles deform and form a continuous film at lower temperatures, reducing the tendency toward:
-cracking
-poor film formation
-powdery film
-poor low-temperature film formation
-insufficient flexibility
-poor adhesion
Dibenzoate glycol esters(ECOD-FLEX) are well established as low-VOC plasticizer/coalescent film-forming aids, with very low v***r pressure and suitable solubility parameters for polar polymers such as acrylics.

Why Do Water-Based Adhesives Become Brittle in Cold Weather?
Many water-based adhesive manufacturers face the same challenge: Excellent bonding performance at room temperature, but reduced flexibility and increased brittleness under low-temperature conditions.
This issue is often related to insufficient film formation and the limitations of conventional plasticizers. As temperatures decrease, polymer chains lose mobility, leading to reduced elongation, poor flexibility, and even cracking.
