Precision Forming for a 6.1m Large-Diameter Tube Sheet Forging

For this 6.1m large-diameter forged component, the manufacturing route involved a controlled forging process under heavy forging presses to manage deformation and prepare the material for later machining and inspection.

The objective is not only to achieve the required size. It is to build a forging blank with a more controlled internal structure and a stable foundation for downstream processing.

After forging and subsequent processing, the component achieved ultrasonic testing acceptance.

Designed for demanding pressure equipment applications, large tube sheet forgings like this can support projects in ethylene glycol processing, hydrogenation, nuclear power, and other petrochemical and energy systems.

Hongteng New Material Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Wuxi Hongda Heavy Industry, has officially commenced operation of its 16,000-ton fast forging press and integrated casting-forging production line.

This milestone marks an important expansion of Hongda Heavy Industry’s manufacturing footprint and strengthens our ability to support larger, more demanding forging projects.
