Plasser & Theurer Rail Welding Robot APT 1500 R

A world first, Plasser & Theurer’s fully automatic APT 1500 R rail welding robot marks a major technological breakthrough. Developed from the company’s decades of flash-butt welding expertise, user needs and the European standard EN 1587-2, it meets higher demands for welding precision, breaking force and fatigue strength. It complies with EN 14587-2 by separating welding current and rail clamping, and shearing upset metal in the pressure direction.

ICE & FIRE on the Railway

The thermal expansion and contraction ductility test for railway rails is a combined professional inspection involving laboratory basic mechanical property tests, high and low temperature environmental simulation cycle tests and in-service sampling inspections on rails and their welded joints in accordance with railway industry standards, which corely verifies the plasticty, toughness, deformation resistance and fracture resistance of rails under extreme temperature changes and provides data support for the temperature stress control and safe service of railway lines.

GCX-1000K Snow Plowing Train

The GCX-1000K Snow Plowing Train is a specialized rail obstacle-clearing equipment developed for high-latitude and severe cold environments (-50℃ to -10℃). Its core purpose is to address obstructions such as snow accumulation, ice buildup, and frozen snow layers on tracks under extremely cold weather conditions. The equipment integrates three core systems—mechanical breaking, thermal snow melting, and intelligent navigation—and is compatible with standard-gauge (1435mm) railways and urban rail lines. It operates stably under harsh working conditions such as sustained low temperatures, strong winds, and blizzards, ensuring the continuity and safety of rail transportation.

• Operating Temperature Range: -50℃ to -10℃ (supports short-term emergency operation at -60℃)
• Wind Resistance Rating: ≤ Level 10 (25 m/s)
• Adaptable Snow Depth: ≤300mm (loose snow), ≤150mm (compacted/frozen snow)
• Adaptable Ice Thickness: ≤50mm (ice layer)
• Altitude Adaptation Range: 0–4500m
• Travel Speed (Unloaded): ≤80 km/h
• Working Speed: 5–25 km/h
• Gradability: ≤30‰ (track gradient)
• Turning Radius: ≥150m (minimum curve passing radius)
• Snow Removal Efficiency: ≥8000 m³/h (loose snow), ≥4500 m³/h (compacted snow), ≥2000 m³/h (frozen snow)
• Ice Breaking Method: Combined mechanical impact and thermal snow melting (front ice-breaking hammer + bottom heating plate)

Train Wheel Reprofiling

Train wheel reprofiling is an essential maintenance process that restores a wheel's optimal shape, which degrades through normal wear. This procedure is critical for safety as it prevents derailment by correcting the wheel profile and fl**ge to ensure secure rail guidance, while also eliminating instability like "hunting" at high speeds. Furthermore, it enhances performance and efficiency by reducing rolling resistance for better fuel economy, extends the lifespan of both the wheels and tracks, and improves ride quality by minimizing vibrations and ensuring a smoother, more comfortable journey for passengers and cargo.
