Meet Shuffleshock — our heaviest and most powerful antweight robot.

Shuffleshock is a shuffler, which means it doesn’t use wheels or other rolling drive systems. Instead, it moves on alternating legs. This gives it a 50% weight bonus, allowing us to put much more mass into its weapon.

Shuffleshock falls into the vertical spinner category, with a weapon best described as a “drisk” — something between a drum and a disk. The sharp weapon geometry helps it bite into opponents and launch them high into the air. Its strategy is simple: spin up, keep the front pointed at the opponent, and charge forward.

The chassis is printed from Super PLA+, while the top section and side guards are made from TPU. The result is a compact, tough, tank-like robot built around one very aggressive weapon.

Shuffleshock v1

Version 1 started with one clear idea: build a robot with the strongest weapon possible. At the time, that meant for us making the weapon as heavy as we could.

To make that possible, we needed the weight bonus — so Shuffleshock became a shuffler. It used a non-standard cam-driven walking mechanism with three long rubber-coated plates on each side. The idea was that the large contact area would provide strong traction. The legs also had small protrusions so the robot could drive upside down. In reality, the system didn’t work as well as expected. The movement wasn’t smooth, and the speed was low.

The whole robot was printed from ABS. The weapon was a 5 mm thick single-tooth carbon steel disk weighing around 90 g. It had so much energy that at 100% speed, the robot became completely impossible to control.

At the front, four spring-loaded wedgelets were added to improve low ground clearance against pushers. The springs helped keep them on the floor, even through vibrations and the stepping motion of the legs.

Shuffleshock v2

Version 2 received a completely redesigned leg mechanism. It was smaller, faster, lighter, and easier to manufacture. The smaller legs also allowed us to change the body geometry — making the robot shorter and wider. This version also marked the switch from ABS to Super PLA+.

Mr. Thunnus

Meet our oldest and with 14 tournaments under its belt our most battle-tested robot!

Mr. Thunnus is a vertical spinner armed with an eggbeater style weapon. More specifically, it's large A-shaped spinner fitted with hardox blades bolted to its outer edges. This design places significant amount of mass far from the center of rotation, allowing the weapon to store a huge amount of kinetic energy and deliver devastating hits.

For mobility, Mr. Thunnus relies on tracks, giving it excellent stability while driving forward and absorbing impacts. The downside is that skid steering causes the tracks to slip during sharp turns, and they can occasionally bind up completely when turning on the spot.

Over the years, the robot has undergone countless iterations and weight optimizations. As a result, the internal space available for electronics and components is now only 10 mm tall — every millimeter counts! The chassis and armor panels are 3D printed from Super PLA+, while top cover is made from flexible TPU.

Mr. Thunnus v1

The very first version of Mr. Thunnus was 3D printed from ASA, with simple natural-rubber band tracks used for propulsion.

At the time, the chassis was oversized and far from weight-optimized, leaving plenty of room for improvement. The weapon design was also still in its early stages and proved to be unreliable—more often than not, a hard hit would cause the entire weapon assembly to come apart.

Despite its shortcomings, this version laid the foundation for everything that followed and marked the beginning of Mr. Thunnus' journey.

Mr. Thunnus v2

Version 2 featured a much more compact chassis from ABS, although this came at the cost of increased height. The weapon grew to an impressive 58 mm in diameter, making it the most powerful spinner ever fitted to Mr. Thunnus.

Představujeme naší arénu pro nejmenší váhovou kategorii robotů - Antweight do 150 gramů. I přes to, že se jedná o takové drobečky, umí dát pořádnou ránu! Proto musí být aréna bytelná, ta naše je vyrobená z 6 mm tlustých desek polykarbonátu a hliníkového rámu, ve spodní části jsou ještě navíc nárazníky, které schytají většinu ran a mohou se snadno vyměnit. Plocha arény má rozměry 120 x 100 cm a je také z polykarbonátu. Na jedné straně arény se nachází díra o rozměrech 20 x 20 cm, kam roboti můžou spadnout. Na stropě samozřejmě nechybí ani LED osvětlení, aby jste na zápasy dobře viděli!
