During one of our tests, the structure of the propeller failed. This is precisely why we believe ducted fans are the future. We need to confirm Joby’s study on whether a failed propeller can destroy adjacent propellers. While having multiple propellers is beneficial, if debris enters and a propeller blade breaks, it can easily cause catastrophic damage to nearby components due to the enormous speed of the particles.

Sometimes, it is really hard to dive deep into a problem—you need to take several steps back to identify the root cause of the issue. These two pictures are game-changing, even if they don't look like it. The blue bubble causes stall departure and turbulence, creating instability in our nacelle, which, during tilting and at higher speeds, affects the driving computer.
After the last three years, we need to change our concept for Airwolf, as this could cause instability issues at medium and higher speeds.
But don't worry—we are already testing the solution 😉 and working on redesigning our electric ducted fan nacelle to eliminate this issue.
This is why R&D is so exciting, though sometimes I wish we had better knowledge earlier.

Flashback to a super cool moment in April: Our Airwolf prototype was selected to be featured in an upcoming movie by Jan Hřebejk, the brilliant mind behind some of the best Czech films.

We’re extremely proud of this achievement! While the movie isn’t out yet, we wanted to share some behind-the-scenes moments, including the careful preparations and the beautiful packing we created to ensure Airwolf’s safe travels.

We're building Airwolf—the ultimate flying motorbike.

Which is also an eVTOL (Electric Vertical Take-Off) vehicle, meaning you can lift off and land from anywhere, like your driveway, while being fully electric.

Right now is an exciting time with many eVTOL companies like Jetson,

EHang, Lilium, Archer, Joby Aviation, Volocopter, Vertical Aerospace, Pivotal, Doroni Aerospace, XPENG AEROHT reimagining urban mobility as we know it.

These eVTOLs share common goals: they're fully electric, sustainable, and designed to transform how we travel around our planet.

Typically these are alternatives to traditional planes, taxis, or cars.

UDX Airwolf is designed as a flying motorbike—beautifully crafted, bringing as much freedom and excitement as a motorbike, but in the air.

Are you melting this summer like our multimeter? 🥵

Throwback to the summer of 2021, it was 34°C when we were testing the thrust of the EDF we were developing at the time. While the computer, the engineer, and the multimeter were dying, the motor did excellent!

And, amazingly, the multimeter display went back to normal after it cooled down. So, no multimeters were hurt during this shoot. Hopefully, like the rest of us 😅
