Milí přátelé,

povedené oslavy jsou za námi a teď na na vás máme prosbu. Fungování našeho prostoru od začátku staví na dobrovolnictví v rámci kolektivu a vstřícnosti směrem k okolí. Punctum nikdy nebylo a ani nebude ekonomicky efektivní podnik – a to je v pořádku. Možnost vybírat si program, kterému věříme, je jak privilegium, tak naprostá esence našeho přístupu. Samozřejmě to ale s sebou nese jistá omezení.

Čím dál víc narážíme na věci, které je potřeba vyřešit a na které prostě nemáme prostředky. Jde o zastaralou elektroinstalaci, nedostatek audiovybavení i akustiku a zvukovou izolaci prostoru. Naším velkým snem je pak renovovat a začít využívat prostory pod terasou, které by vyřešily spoustu našich prostorových omezení.

Aby to bylo možné, vracíme se ke crowdfundingu. Když jsme se na vás obraceli naposledy, nastupoval lockdown a my bojovali o přežití, které nám vaše pomoc zajistila. Teď vás prosíme o peníze znovu. Chceme, aby si Punctum udrželo svoji atmosféru, ale aby zároveň poskytovalo adekvátní zázemí umělcům i vám, návštěvníkům.

Dear friends,

The celebration of our 10th anniversary was incredible, but now it’s time to ask you for something. Our modus operandi has always been based on volunteering and openness towards the broader scene. Punctum has never been and will never be an economically efficient venture – which is fine. We are able to provide space for events we believe in, which is both a privilege and something inherent to our approach. This, obviously, carries certain limitations.

We’re facing a growing number of challenges that need to be addressed, but we lack the means to do so. This includes an obsolete electrical installation, a shortage of audio equipment as well as acoustics and sound insulation of the main room. We’d also love to renovate the spaces under the terrace, which could serve as much needed storage rooms.

For these reasons, we’re starting a new crowdfunding campaign. The last time we did this, we were in the middle of a lockdown and your contributions helped us survive. Now we’re asking for your money once again, with the aim of keeping Punctum’s unique atmosphere as well as providing great facilities for artists and visitors alike.

Na konci roku se definitivně uzavře Underdogs' v Nádražní ulici.

Po osmi letech, kdy jsme se za přispění mnoha snažili vybudovat a udržet na státu nezávislý prostor pro okrajovou alternativní kulturu, se musíme posunout dál. Podobná místa všude na světě jsou extrémně křehká a existence je vždy závislá na mnoha faktorech. Samozřejmě primárně na financích. V našich možnostech nikdy nebylo dlouhodobě provoz dotovat a zajistit udržitelný provoz se nikdy nepodařilo. Aktuální situace posledního roku či dvou a výhled do budoucnosti je pak natolik špatný, že jsme se rozhodli od celého projektu ustoupit. Během těch 8 let se ale podařilo propojit hodně lidí a Underdogs' bude pokračovat dál v nějaké organizované kolektivní formě. Pořád je tu potřeba prostoru a podpory svobodné tvorby.
Hlavním cílem Underdogs' v Nádražní bylo vybudovat prostor pro mezinárodní program. To se dlouho dařilo velmi dobře a hodně večerů už má nebo ještě získá legendární status. Nová socioekonomická situace převrátila poměry v mezinárodním hudebním prostředí vzhůru nohama a letos se již vůbec nedařilo plnit program podle našich představ. Výhled do budoucna je pak ještě horší.
Děkujeme Všem za podporu. Kolektiv Underdogs' nekončí, budeme rádi, když nás budete dále sledovat.

At the end of the year, Underdogs' on Nádražní Street will officially close.
After eight years, during which we, with the help of many, tried to build and maintain an independent space for marginal alternative culture, we must move on.
Similar places around the world are extremely fragile, and their existence always depends on many factors. Of course, primarily finances. It was never within our means to subsidise operations long-term, and achieving a sustainable operation was never successful. The current situation of the past year or two, along with the outlook for the future, is so bad that we have decided to step away from the entire project. However, over these 8 years, we have managed to connect many people, and Underdogs' will continue in some organised collective form.
There is still a need for space and support for creativity.
The main goal of Underdogs' on Nádražní was to build a space for an international program. This was successfully achieved for a some time, and many nights have already attained, or will attain, legendary status. The new socioeconomic situation has turned the international music scene upside down, and this year we have been unable to fulfil our program as we envisioned, with the outlook for the future even worse.

Raw analogue rytmic structures, pulsating drones of dissonant synth lines, Kamila's apathetic processed and cut up voice grow in intensity over the course of five emotionally charged tracks.

It is almost an post-euphoric reaction to noise as "ding and sich" - from the sonic miasma of walls of noise emerge structures that are equally informed by chance and randomness as by the straight pulse of techno or the cold and restrained sound of post-punk.

HISS COLLECTIVE hailing from Poznań, Poland will perform for the first time in Prague on October 12th with three of its members. Focusing on sounds ranging from ambient, noise, experimental, tape and sample manipulation, post post punk, industrial and more the group creates a kind of open organism, evolving, mutating, along with the need of the moment. Cassette releases often focus on re-using, repurposing, and re-cycling of physical materials.

Today from 18:30 Andrej Kabal takes a closer look at the current Prague punk & underground scene together with Judita Císařová. As we will find out, the current sound of scene is not bounded by any dogmas and it is more about the attitude.

Together with Judita, they prepared playlist representing the sound variety of scene, discussed some background information about scene and had a good time.

Judita Císařová is musician, promoter and journalist based in Prague. Currently she has radio show called "Špína" on Czech National Radio, organizes and promotes events with Hluch crew and keeps her eye on the scene.
